Homeowner from hell

Is there someway to remove a member from a homeowners association?

This member is making life extremely difficult for everyone in the HOA. We go through board members faster than anything because he makes life so difficult. Simple issues become huge email campaigns. Meetings last for hours and hours. The members will not put him on the board because he is so disliked and controlling, but he finds ways to get control of things. He has enough legal knowledge to make everyone extremely nervous.

His lot on the edge planned plat submitted to the county. I believe that we can get re-platted but how do we get him out of the HOA??

Each HOA member owns a share of the common area.

What can we do??!!!

Wow-you think you can just

Wow-you think you can just "re-plat" and dispose of your "Gadfly of Rome?" I am SURE you will incite him to extreme action if you try that solution. Every "system" which means "sewer" (in so many words) needs a CLEANSER. He keeps your "Imperialist" or elitist types from gaining too much power-be thankful-for I ASSURE you THAT kind of person naturally GRAVITATES to a HOA BOARD! NOW if you are SURE you want to get rid of him since he is VALUABLE as someone who takes on such an awful job (keeping ya'll so over-involved with HIM you cannot SCREW anyone ELSE OVER- and evidently excels at it) -put him "ON" the Board and you guys will be able to relax and let him do everything. LOL!

Have you considered using

Have you considered using Roberts Rules of Order at your meetings allowing you to make 'motions' requiring voted actions of approval or denial on agenda items, etc. This process may neutralize things a bit.
