What has the foreclosure crisis done to your HOA or POA?

I am a former property manager of communities in Georgia, Alabama, and Arkansas. I left my career of 12+ years to work towards a masters degree and am doing a project for one of my real estate classes compiling information on communities from all over the USA.

The main focus is what the economy has done to successful communities. Have your dues increased drastically or amenities haulted? Share with me about your community. People in general don't know what HOA's and POA's do. They think property managers just rent houses or apartments - so help me share what your communities are going through during these tough economic times.

Thanks.
